Kirikpena punk fanzine (10/10/2007)

-Hi…Kirikpena is punk fanzine from Turkiye so that I want to ask a question about what do you know about Turkish music scene?Do you know any names or festivals or ect ect…?
Well, unfortunately, we don´t know much as what we would like to know about the Turkish music scene, about Festivals or clubs over there but we would really love to go and find out!
-My classical question is coming now;how did you start interested in music and after that which bands or musicians made you to make music?
I can´t really remember, it was when I was quite young, but it was in my middle 20´s when I started seriously with my music, I used to listen the classicals such as The sisters of mercy, the cure, Peter Murphy, etc…
-One of your favorite bands is The Cure…I love them so much especially Robert Smith is my goth god!…What do you want to say about them end their affects on your music?
They are a super band, and they have marked to all a generation with their music, I´m sure they have affected on us too!!!
-You are not making a happy music, your music is dark.Is your life have darkness like your music or you are just thinking and writing about it?Impressions or living in it…Which one has big part in your music?
I don’t know but for some reason when the people see us coming they always hide all the knifes and sharp objects.
; ) hahaha

-Europe,especially northest of Europe has great metal bands…What you want to say about it,are there any bands that you enjoy to listen for example?
Well, I guess like in Turkey they have also very good bands, as you said mainly they are more into Metal, but there are a few of them that I really enjoy like for example Nightwish, Within Temptation, Epica… and many others.
-In your band, what kind of different music styles are listened by each of you?
We really like different genres, we are not only focusing our music into goth, but it´s mainly what we try to express, because of the way we feel or the way we live.
We listen from classical music to heavy metal, I think it´s good to be open minded with different music styles because that will give you a good vision of how music is…
-What is your aims in your country and after around the world?Would you want to go other countries and play in festivals ect ect..?In which countries had you made concerts untill today?
Our goals in our country are the same ones worldwide, we have already played in many different countries and everysingle place is unique, and it´s great!
We have played so far in countries like Spain, U.K, Germany, Portugal, Ukraine…
-Are you planing to try some different styles or using interesting instruments in your music? For example Paradise Lost, you know they used to make synth pop,too =)
Every Cd we get released the people can noticed an evolution, because time change us all, in music and so as an individual person.
-What is the other effects(like movies, books or myths..ect ect..)in your music?
Of course movies, books, etc… are sources of inspiration for many people including for ourselves, at the end of the day everything it´s part of art.
-Recording at the studio…How is your recording times? Are you stressful or relax? And on stage…Which is most funniest for you?Being on stage or recording at the studio and making songs..?
We really take our time when we compose or even when we go to record to the studio, so we try to make this process as much relax as we can.
Of course we enjoy more playing live and sharing our music with all our fans.
when we compose maybe we get to make many many songs but after having spent hours and hours working on them, maybe we realize that they are not really what we want to express and then we put them apart, so to reach to the right ones to put in the Cd can take us months composing and recording.
-Do you think that band members looks are important part of them?Their clothes to make up…We can see it especially in metal bands…Is this a part of these kind of music styles? And scene…Are you making shows on stage?Should bands make shows while they are on stage? What would you want to do on stage for your audiences?

All it depends of what you want to communicate with your music, you have to act or interpretate what you are singing or playing, so if make up it´s necessary for some bands then of course it´s important…

-This is the end of my questions. Thanks for your interest.Do you want to say something for end?
Thanks to everybody that listens to our music and supports the band!

promese to no let you down!!!!!!
